One of the many ways the Orange County Convention Center communicates with over 600 employees is through Full Building Meetings. Hosted twice a year, they provide insight to the latest news in the Convention Center District, stakeholders and the local community by featuring guest speakers. Additionally, the meetings celebrate employees who’ve hit milestones here are the OCCC by marking 15, 20, 25, and 30 years of service. The OCCC’s executive team also named the winners of our Hospitality Hero program, an honor bestowed upon exceptional employees who go above and beyond in customer service. Employees can be nominated by anyone visiting or working at the convention center.
This year’s Summer Full Building Meeting had a full agenda, starting off with the State of the Center from our Executive Director Kathie Canning. Canning recapped how busy the first half of the year was and encouraged employees to maintain the high level of customer service that makes us the Center of Hospitality.
Our guest speakers consisted of a Heart of Florida United Way representative who kicked off the OCCC campaign and our Gold Key Attraction Partners, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando, who delivered exciting updates on the newest additions and changes happening at their respective destinations.
The next Full Building Meeting will be in December to recap 2017 and to look forward to 2018.
