Hurricane Ian

We are closely monitoring Hurricane Ian. The safety of our clients and their attendees is of the utmost importance. Updates on how the hurricane will affect operations at the Orange County Convention Center will be posted on this web page. Bookmark www.occc.net/Ian for quick access.

The OCCC and surrounding I-Drive District sustained minimal damage and are ready to get back to business.

As the staging ground for equipment and machinery used in response and recovery efforts both during and after Hurricane Ian, the Center housed more than 350 emergency equipment, vehicles, and aircrafts from agencies including, American Medical Response, U.S. Air Force, Tampa General Hospital, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Florida Game and Wildlife, Jacksonville Police Department, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Orange County Fire Rescue, and the National Guard.

The OCCC is proud to have served as a partner and a resource for first responders and the agencies responsible with saving lives and restoring communities after the storm.

In accordance with Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings’ decision to suspend County operations from Wednesday, September 28 through Friday, September 30, 2022, the Orange County Convention Center will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Saturday, October 1.

For shelter information and storm updates from Orange County Government, visit www.ocfl.net/storm.

Leaders at the OCCC continue working with the County’s Office of Emergency Management to track and monitor Hurricane Ian. At this time, the OCCC is open and conducting business as usual. In advance of the storm, our facility is being used as a staging site for emergency vehicles and medical air crafts to ensure residents and visitors of Central Florida are safe during and after the storm.

For Orange County residents who need sandbags or hurricane preparedness resources, visit www.ocfl.net/storm.

The Orange County Convention Center is monitoring Hurricane Ian and the Center is operating as normal. As of right now, all show activity for the week of Sept. 26 is occurring as scheduled. Please stay safe during the storm and check back regularly for updates.
